What do you do as a Customer Service Specialist?

As a customer service specialist, you ensure that each customer is well served and therefore happy and satisfied after their contact with you. Nowadays, we send a lot of parcels to Germany, which is why we are expanding our customer service with a team of colleagues who have a good command of the German language. Of course, we also want to offer our customers in Germany the best service! So do you have a good command of the German language? Then we might be looking for you.

At Belsimpel, customer friendliness always comes first, which is why we do not work with sales targets or bonuses. You provide each customer with personal but also independent advice. Does the customer want a phone that he can only use to make and receive calls? Then you wouldn't recommend the most expensive and fastest device, would you? We believe that if we help the customer as honestly as possible, the customer will automatically come back to us. During the training you will learn all about our working methods and the latest phones and gadgets. You don't have to be an expert in this yet, but it is important that you are eager to learn and want to know more about it.

As part of Team Customer Service, you know exactly how to ask the right questions to find out which device suits the customer best or where the customer could use some extra help. Does the customer have a question about the guarantee procedure? You know the answer in no time and make sure the customer understands it even better. In the beginning, this will mainly be by email, but if a customer has problems while ordering, you call the customer to lend a hand.

You go the extra mile every day to offer our customers the very best solution. Did something go wrong by accident? Then you make sure that the customer is fully satisfied again. It may be that you come up with a solution that falls outside the standard working method. Can’t find a solution by yourself? Then your colleagues are always there to think along with you, after all, you are a team.

What does the Customer Service Team look like?

Every day of the week, from early to late, Team Customer Service goes to great lengths for all customers who could use some help. You can flexibly combine your hours with your studies as our customer service team is open 7 days a week between 9:00 and 00:00. Within this international customer service team, there are two specialisations: Mobile World and Technical Service. As a Mobile World Specialist, you help international customers make the right choice for a device or accessory. In the Technical Services specialization, you help customers with (technical) questions about a device, for example, with setting up the mail or if their Internet is not working. In this function, you will develop communication and problem-solving skills that will benefit you for the rest of your career.

This is how your day can look

After college you cycle to our office on the Grote Markt. When you enter, Lotte greets you enthusiastically and you chat about the past weekend. After hanging up your coat, you walk to the meeting room where the day's activities begin. It promises to be a busy, but fun day. The new iPhone is being launched today, so many customers will be asking for your advice on selecting their device. Yesterday you worked an email shift and today you're looking forward to speaking to a lot of nice customers during your call shift! You answer each customer's question and constantly think about how you can go the extra mile. At the end of your shift, you turn off your computer with a clear conscience - you've made a lot of customers happy today. Besides, it's Friday, which means: the VrijMiBo (Friday afternoon drinks)! Jesse is waiting for you at the tap and provides you with a cold beer, after which you drink it in the bright sunshine on the roof terrace with your colleagues Jochem and Bianca.

Career opportunities

Eventually, you can move up to the role of coordinator, where you will be helping colleagues with difficult issues or training and coaching new colleagues.

Besides growing within your own function, working in customer service is a good basis to grow into another (study-related) function within Belsimpel, either during or after your studies.
