Internship: develop, design and improve.

How do we develop software?

Each team works on its own part of the software. These can be customer-oriented components, but also our warehouse system or our own HR system. You develop, optimise and implement new features. We develop all the systems we work on ourselves, so that we can respond effectively to complex and challenging changes in the market. We also use the systems ourselves, but we build them as independently functioning software that is also interesting for other companies. So, although we are also a web shop, we see ourselves as a software company. So our scope is much broader than you might think.

Our stack

...and don't forget Gitlab, Docker, Typescript and Redis. We use various tools including Jetbrains, Slack, Ubuntu/Windows and vscode. This is always in motion, as the world of technology never stands still either.

What will you be doing during your graduation internship?

  • We always have several interesting projects ready to go. Which one will you work on? We will discuss that later.

  • However, we can give you an impression of what it will be about. We build everything ourselves and your assignment will be related to that, such as our website, our CRM system, warehouse, HRM or AB-testing system.
  • Would you like to work on one of these projects and bring about important improvements? Or does your heart and strength lie more with one of our two successful spin-offs? These are Verifai, which consists of advanced ID verification software, and our own insurance company Tulip Assist. One thing is sure: at Belsimpel we can offer you the challenge you are looking for!


What does graduating at Belsimpel look like?

  • Your assignment will be in line with your personality and will have depth.

  • We ensure that your project meets the requirements of the Hanze. You will be given sufficient time for your research and for your realisation element.
  • We will discuss your assignment and ambitions in detail with your supervisor
  • You will receive guidance from our experienced colleagues + access to all the information you need
  • Your research/project will actually be carried out in the end. We do not do research that we are not going to use and that might end up at the bottom of a drawer elsewhere.
  • If both sides are satisfied, you can, of course, continue to work for Belsimpel in our Development team after your graduation project. Many graduates at Belsimpel then build their own research project, how cool is that! 
  • With 70+ colleagues from more than 12 nationalities, we form a nice international community.

Who are you?

  • You are currently pursuing a University of Applies Sciences (HBO) or University (WO) degree in the field of: Communication & Multimedia Design, ICT or Software Engineering.
  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery are second nature to you and terms like Ajax, JSON and XML are familiar to you.
  • You have a solid understanding of different browsers and have a passion for web development.
  • You are up for a challenge and are a true team player.
  • You always adopt a goal-oriented approach.
  • Experience with PHP, SQL, Git and SEO is a definite plus.
