Help build the foundation of our platforms
At Gomibo, we don’t just build software — we manage our entire infrastructure stack in-house. Our platforms run on a private cloud that we operate ourselves across three data centers in Groningen. As a Junior Infrastructure Engineer (Infrastructure Engineer I), you’ll be working on that infrastructure from day one: from server configuration to monitoring, from automation to incident response. You’ll play a crucial role in keeping our platforms running.
You’ll take on operational tasks, automate infrastructure through code, and help us keep our platforms scalable and secure. Your work touches everything — and everyone — that depends on our services.
Our tech & workflow
Infra: Kubernetes, Ceph, Docker, NGINX, HAProxy, Helm
Automation & monitoring: Terraform, Ansible, GitOps (Flux), Prometheus, Loki, Grafana
Security & secrets management: Hashicorp Vault
Stack: Our own data centers (3 colocations), private cloud, GitLab for version control
Workflow: We work iteratively, release often, and automate everything that makes sense
Our team takes full ownership of our infrastructure. We actively replace legacy systems, experiment with new tech, and constantly look for ways to improve.
What you'll do
You'll join the Infrastructure team responsible for designing, maintaining, and operating our private cloud. Together, you'll ensure our infrastructure is robust, scalable, and up-to-date.
Examples of what you’ll work on:
Installing and maintaining infrastructure components (storage, networking, compute)
Performing operational tasks like monitoring, backups, and proactive maintenance
Automating infrastructure with Terraform and Ansible
Setting up monitoring and alerting with Prometheus, Loki, and Grafana
Investigating incidents and running postmortems
Physically installing and maintaining data center hardware

What we're looking for
You're passionate about infrastructure and eager to learn new technologies. You don’t need to be an expert yet — but you’re curious, technically minded, and take responsibility for your work.
We expect:
A completed (or nearly completed) degree in IT or a related field (HBO or WO level)
Familiarity with Linux systems and networking
Affinity with infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud technology
Strong communication skills in English
A team player with an eye for quality and security
