You are the Specialist of the Mobile World.

As a sales advisor at Belsimpel you are the first point of contact in our physical store in Amsterdam. Together with your colleagues you advise the customer about phones and contracts; you make sure each customer makes the right choice. You are proactive and find it a challenge to ensure that the customer leaves the shop satisfied.

What do you do as a Sales Advisor in Amsterdam?

As a sales adviser in one of our shops you are the face of Belsimpel. Our customers can come to you for all their questions and you make sure that everyone leaves the shop satisfied. You provide the customer with the best advice by starting a conversation and finding out their needs. At Belsimpel, we don't work with targets, so you always give the customer honest advice and make sure the customer goes home with the product that suits them best. You don't have to be completely at home with the latest phones and contracts, but you are motivated to learn more about them, so you can inform customers as accurately as possible and quickly find the information they need.

Besides advising customers about phones, contracts, accessories and insurance, you are also a service point for customers. You are aware of the current state of affairs at Belsimpel and know how to find the right information. Customers can also come to you for things like getting their SIM card cut, setting up their phone, returning their purchases and picking up their online order. You assist customers who have a problem with their device by handling the problem yourself or by sending it to a repair centre if you can't solve the problem for the customer right away in the shop. Finally, you make sure that customers always have a neat and clean shop to go to. The work is therefore very varied, no day at Belsimpel is the same!

This is what your day could look like

In the morning, you greet your colleague Zahid and you open the shop together. First priority? Cleaning and making sure the shop looks tidy. When you're done with that, the doors open and the first customers come in. You start your day off right: an elderly couple is looking for their first smartphone. They've just become grandparents and are looking for a phone so their daughter can send them pictures of their grandchild. You ask them what they are looking for in a phone; just running WhatsApp and maybe taking some simple pictures of the dog is enough. You know enough and find the perfect budget phone for these customers. After all, they don't need a luxury device and this saves them a lot of money. After this, you help a few customers to collect their online orders and then it's time for your break.

In the afternoon, you clean the show models again. While you're doing this, a customer comes in with a difficult case, for which you don't immediately have an answer. Fortunately, we have a system where you can easily find the necessary information for the customer and so you are able to find a good solution in no time. Next, you help a gentleman who thought he had lost all the photos from his old phone. You manage to transfer all the data! The customer thanks you kindly and leaves the shop satisfied. He was the last customer and you and your colleagues close the shop. Now you can cycle home, just as satisfied as all your customers.

Who are you?

  • You are studying at university or university of applied sciences level and are available for at least 12 to 16 hours a week, including evenings on which there is late-night shopping and weekend days.

  • Affinity with telecom is a big plus!

  • You are social and have good problem solving and communication skills.

  • Helping customers fires you up and you are not afraid to approach customers.

  • You work in a small (but fun!) team, and you are a real team player.

  • You are available for at least 1.5 years.

  • As the team, protocols and training sessions are currently only available in Dutch, it is a requirement that you can understand Dutch. You do not have to be able to speak or write Dutch.
